New Zealand: Foodstuffs reinforces his network of retailers with Liquorland
(Nov 12, 2008)
New Zealand’s co-operative supermarket chain Foodstuffs has bought the 70 nationwide “Liquorland” stores of the DB Breweries for an unknown amount. For DB Breweries, this gives an opportunity to refocus on the core of our business, explained a spokesperson of the company. For Foodstuffs, this extension of its distribution resources, already including Henry’s and Duffy & Finn’s, allows the retail of its beer and wine in the supermarket chain Pak’n’Save, New World and Four Square. Foodstuffs was in competition with its rival Woolworth, another New Zealand supermarket chain, which here suffered a serious setbacks.
